FATE OF DUTCH JEWS
AT HANDS OF NAZI SAVAGES “GENERAL LIQUIDATION” From Lisbon comes the following information, received from the German frontier, regarding the fate of Netherlands Jews. After the recent visit by Gestapo chief Himmler to Holland, a general liquidation of the Jews was carried out. From notorious concentration camps thousands of Dutch Jews were sent every week to the ■ east. Only, three classes were excepted, viz: Jews with a Palestine certificate —those with original South American visas—and Jews for whom Aryan acquaintances were willing to dispose of diamonds worth 25,000 Swiss francs. The first two categories were sent to an internment camp in Central Germany. From the notorious camp in Holland, which contains one fifth of the Jewish civil servants together with “deserving Dutchmen,” all were sent to Germany after sterilisation. Last week Jewish partners of 25,000 mixed Dutch couples were sterilised in Amsterdam hospitals by German military doctors, who used Rontgen rays and operations. The Germans estimate that there are still 15,000 Dutch Jews hidden by the population in Holland. The Jewish Council, which until recently still had 170 members, has been dissolved and the members sent to Central Germany.
