WOMEN’S DIVISION MONTHLY MEETING (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the local Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, Mrs Maitland presided, there being a fair attendance of members. Arrangements were made for a children's party to be held in the State Theatre on Friday, January 7. Members had the pleasure of listening to a very interesting address given by the Rev F. Robertson, organiser of the New Christian Order for New Zealand, for which he was accorded a /hearty vote of thanks. A bring-and-buy stall was well laden and did good business. Mesdames Hall and Walsh were in charge. Before closing, the president extended the season’s greetings to all members. Mrs F. Court was the winner of the Wandering Shilling. Afternoon tea was served. Competitions were won as follows: — Blooms, Mrs Cooper 1 and 2, Mrs Hicks 3. Shrubs, Mrs Cooper 1 and 2, Mrs Standen 3. Cabbages, Mrs Standen 1 and 2, Mrs Hicks 3. Turnips, Mrs Hicks 1, Mrs Standen 2 and 3. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs W. Gregor, Carterton, announce the engagement of their eldest daughter, Heather, to Gunner Alan Raymond, youngest son of Mrs C. and the late Mr A. E. Whitham, Petone. Driver of Hay Rake Injured. About 7.30 o’clock last evening in Belvedere Street, a horse attached to a hay rake bolted. Mr Victor Goodin, son of Mrs H. Goodin, Park Road, had been raking hay on Mr Jackson’s property, Connolly’s Line, and was returning to his home when the swingle bar attached to the rake gave way at one end hitting the horse on the legs and caused him to bolt. The driver was thrown heavily on to the road, suffering injury to his head and one ankle. Mr Alf Archer, who saw the occurrence, took the injured man to Dr. Morton, who dressed his wounds and afterwards took him to his home. The horse galloped all the way home. Salvation Army Concert. On Wednesday evening the children from Whatman Home, Masterton, will provide a programme of songs and other items in the local Salvation Army Hall,
