UNITY SIGN
DEVISED BY STALIN. TOASTED AT TEHERAN. (By Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, December 10. Marshal Stalin answered Mr Churchill’s V for victory sign during toasts at the Teheran Conference by raising his right hand with two fingers crossed, saying: “To victory yes, but unii|y is essential first.” The Allied statesmen then raised their glasses ana drank to the new sign for unity. This sidelight, on the recent conferences was related to Reuter's Ankara correspondent by Sir H. Knatchbull-Hugesson, British Ambassador to Turkey.
