TENSION IN BULGARIA
general mobilisation ORDERED AS PRELUDE TO BREAK WITH GERMANY BUDAPEST RADIO REPORT (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, December 10. Bulgaria last night ordered a general mobilisation' of its armed forces, stated the Budapest radio. The decision is believed to be a prelude to a break with Germany. The mobilisation was ordered soon after a mission of Red Army officers and a new Soviet military attache arrived in Sofia (Bulgaria is at war with Britain and America, but not with Russia). The British United Press Stockholm correspondent quotes unconfirmed reports from the Balkans saying that incidents occurred bn the Turkish-Bul-garian frontier. Both sides are stated to have suffered a number of casualties. Other reports state that Germany warned Bulgaria that “if Bulgaria changes her course without consulting Berlin, this will be considered an unfriendly step, resulting in coun-ter-measures.”
The Budapest radio stated that Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, is being blacked out from tonight.
