DASHING ACTION
ENEMY SUPPLY SHIP SUNK BY BRITISH LIGHT NAVAL FORCES. OFF COAST OF HOLLAND. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.2 a.m.) RUGBY, December 10. The Admiralty states that during an offensive sweep in the vicinity of. Ijmuiden (Holland) early this morning, light coastal forces of the Royal Navy Encountered an enemy convoy of four merchantmen, escorted by four E-boats or R-boats and several armed trawlers. The British ships pressed home attacks to close range and scored torpedo hits on one of the supply ships. When last seen, 30 feet of the enemy’s bow was protruding from the sea, at an angle of about 45 degrees, and the escort vessels were picking up survivors. His Majesty’s ships all returned, having sustained neither dam age nor casualties.
