BY TANKS & AIRCRAFT CANADIAN ADVANCE CONTINUING. AIR ATTACKS ON ENEMY PORTS & TRANSPORT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) RUGBY. December 10. An Italy communique states. ,"After heavy fighting Canadians Of the Eighth Army, strongly supported by armoured units, established firm positions north of the Moro River. There was fierce fighting in the vicinity of San Leonardo, but the advance is continuing, well supported by aircraft. ‘On the Fifth Army,front we have continued to make limited advances, winning important terrain in the central sector and capturing Roccadanandra. The enemy has been driven from the whole of the eastern bank of the Garigliano, south of Roccadanandra. “Our medium bombers yesterday successfully attacked Giulianova. Light aircraft attacked German communications in the Rome area and on the east coast of Italy. Light bombers on Wednesday night attacked Civita Vecchia, hitting shipping and harbour installations, leaving one ship on fire. Four of our planes are missing.
