FOURBALL FINAL
MASTERTON GOLF CLUB CONTEST. The final of the Masterton Golf Club’s competition will be played during the weekend. This game is arousing a great deal of interest amongst members and the prospects are that there will be a large gallery to witness the struggle. The match is timed to commence at 8 a.m. Long and Bodie, who are enthusiastic up and coming golfers, are of the hard hitting tear-away type and are liable to upset lower handicap players than themselves. Both of them are particularly long drivers, but unless they are able to control their direction it will probably be a busy day looking for lost balls.
Their opponents, Herbert and Brickman, on their play during the preceding rounds have developed a very solid combination and they will be hard to 'dispose of. Both are stylists in their own particular way and on occasions have played shots worthy of a champion. Apart from the result of the match it will be of great interest to witness the clash between the opposite styles of play. The course is in wonderful order and given fine weather the game should be well worth seeing.
