Colts’ singles: McGimpsey beat Tinsley, 26/6, Progressive pairs: Catt and McCarty (s) beat Colson and Riggs (s), 23/20. Carterton will be represented by the following in a Booth Cup match against Park at Masterton on Saturday: —P&nkhurst, Simmonds, Tucker. Sorensen (s); Newbould, Bain, Barr, Barber (s); Colson, Curtis, Hughan, Harp (s) ;Daysh, W. Steven, King, Riggs (s). Mr C. Holland, of Garrison Street, Carterton, who was taken ill on Tuesday night, has entered the Masterton Hospital for treatment. Hot Weather, Very hot weather has been experienced during the past two days. Yesterday at 2 o'clock the thermometer registered 83 degrees in the shade. Hay Harvesting, Many excellent crops of hay are being harvested in the district. Carter Scenic Reserve. Members of the Carter Home Committee yesterday made an inspection of the Carter Scenic Reserve, Gladstone, particularly the roadway leading into the bush which had been damaged by the Army. The Public Works Department had been asked to metal the roadway which.they did to the satisfaction of the committee.
