NAVAL FORCES

AT DISPOSAL OF GERMANS IN MEDITERRANEAN ITALIAN & FRENCH REMNANTS LIGHT SURFACE VESSELS & SUBMARINES (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) RUGBY, December 8. Particulars of the small operational fleet at the disposal of the Germans in the Mediterranean have been given in London. It is made up chiefly of remnants of the Italian fleet that could not get away and a few French destroyers and light craft saved from scuttling at Toulon. There are altogether probably 15 to 20 destroyers, about nine Italian corvettes, 20 to 30 torpedo-boats and a fairly large number of U-boats, but certainly less than 100.
