LONDON, December 7. It is announced in Cairo that Mr Churchill and President Roosevelt have had talks with General Smuts. General Smuts arrived in Cairo yesterday by air and last night he dined with President Roosevelt. There are no official details of the important comerence which Mr Churchill and President Roosevelt had in Cairo, following’their meeting with Marshal Stalin. It is not yet confirmed from official circles that President Inonu of Turkey has been meeting the Allied leaders in Cairo. It is known that President Inonu left Ankara by special train on Friday for an undisclosed destination. It is .recalled that Mr Eden after the Moscow conference of the Allied Foreign Ministers last month, conferred in Cairo with the Turkish Foreign Minister. “It is clear from the tenor ~of reports which are circulating in Europe tonight that Turkey is under pressure from the Allies to declare herself something’ more than a co-belligerent in their favour,’’ says the “Daily Mail’s’’ political writer. German political commentators tonight said that the meeting represents something more than another “routine conference, particularly as it follow's so soon after the three-Power meeting in Teheran.
