Mr Churchill, President Roosevelt and President Inonu are now meeting in North Africa. The Press Association's diplomatic correspondent, commenting on the conference, says Mr Eden is reported to have accompanied Mr Churchill and Mr Harry Hopkins President Roosevelt, while Mr Menemeni jcglu, Turkish Foreign Minister, accompanied President Inonu. It is assumed' that these important conversations follow on the, Edenrjenemenjoglu conversations in Cairo at the beginning of November.
The German news agency, quoting a Stockholm report, says the Russian envoy to Ankara accompanied President Inonu, and the Turkish delegation included Messrs „Menemenjoglu and Sarajoglu (Prime Minister), and Marshal Chakmak, who is Chief of the Turkish General Staff. According to the German news agency, the leading Turkish political commentator, Yalchin, in an article in # the newspaper “Tanin” regarding President Inonu’s visit to North Africa, says: “This is not only a friendly visit. Talks were held which were concerned with the most important questions of ' the present, as well as the post-war : period, and touched on the fate of the world and of Turkey. The Turkish ' Army is ready for battle. It. would, however, be ridiculous, to assert that Turkey’s entry into the war has been decided in North Africa.”
