It is interesting to note that some 6000 well bred and cared for calves have been entered by New Zealand School Calf Clubs for'competition this year, as compared with 5000 last year. This state of affairs, despite the reduced dairy herds in the Dominion owing to the war. is very satisfactory. The children are keen about the rearing and handling of their calves. The establishment of calf clubs at various schools in the Wellington Education Board’s district has been the means of producing better bred animals in the dairy classes at agricultural shows. - Dog By-law Invalid.
