WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES. COLLEGE BEAT RED STAR. The Wairarapa Cricket Association’s championship matches were continued on Saturday, all games being played on the Wairarapa College grounds. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP RED STAR v. COLLEGE. The Wairarapa Coliege team scored a 5-point win over -'Red Star. For Wairarapa College Bapnister played a good innings for 41 (including six 4s). Many of his strokes were very neat. Hayes, Lyver and G. Masters also batted well for their runs.. For Red Star Parsons was shaping nicely when he was given run out. Holme was the only other double figure scorer. The scores were: — Wairarapa College: 139 for 5 wickets (Bannister 41, Hayes 29, G. Masters 27, Lyvei- 23; Holme 2 for 22, F. Hoar 2 for 46, Renner 1 for 20). Red Star: 63 (Parsons 12, Holme 11; O’Brien 3 for 18, Sweeney 2 for 11, K. Masters 2 for 11, Hayes 1 for 9, G. Masters 1 for 9). JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP Red Star v. Y.M.C.A,—The Red Star juniors secured an eight-point win over Y.M.C.A. Scores: Red Star, 185 for 9 (Mooney, not out, 59, Forrester 56, Shoosmith 18, Needham 13, E. Perry 11; Burns 4 for 77 ..Crook 3 for 20, Morrell 1 for 38). Y.M.C.A.: First innings, 29 (Gerrand 10; Mooney 4 for 14, Morgan 2 for 0, Shoosmith 2 for 1, Longworth 2 for 8). Second innings, 48 (Fly 16, Henson 13; Mooney 8 for 16, McNab 1 for 12). Daniell’s v. Air Training Corps.— Daniell’s scored an 8-point win over Air Training Corps. Scores: Daniell’s, 186 (Colban 73, Massey, not out, 26, Irvine 25, Denby 17, Thomson 12; Forman 3 for 40, Gray 3 for 66, Pearson 2 for 25, Moore 2 for 47). Air Training Corps: First innings, 73 (Gray 23, Pearson 10; Massey 5 for 30, Thomson 3 for 14, Ryder 1 for 25). The following were the results of the Wellington Cricket Association’s senior championship matches on Saturday:— Hutt, 124 beat Petone, 96; Air Force, 155 beat Karori, 113; Kilbirnie, 135 for eight wickets, declared (Bain 51) beat Midland-Wellington, 58; Wellington College Old Boys, 144 for 9 wickets beat Army, 139 (Frecker 60); University, 164 (James 50) and 68 for one wicket beat institute Old Boys, 92.
