REGENT THEATRE
“THE PRIME MINISTER" There will be presented tonight one of the greatest pictures ever brought to the screen, “The Prime Minister," telling one of history's immorm. love stories. “The Sweetest Love Stoij ever told” is the best characterisation for the romance between Benjamin Disraeli and his wife, hero and heroine of Warner Bros’ picture. Played in the film by England’s foremost actor. John Gielgud, Disraeli’s career is traced from his youth to old age. His wife is played by Diana Wynyard; English historical movies have an intriguing habit of lifting the veil on the love affairs of the nation’s famed rulers and statesmen, and “The Prime Minister is further evidence of this. It is a magnificent picture which will make . an immediate appeal. It is a stirring, momentous drama, and one of the finest characterisations ever done for the screen is John Gielgud's portrayal of Disraeli. Diana Wynyard plays the part of Mrs Disraeli with much conviction. Besides the impressive leading cast, the film has a talented array of supporting players, all of whom give very, realistic performances.
