AIRSTRIP ON TARAWA
USE BY AMERICAN AIRCRAFT (British Official Wireless.) (Received. This Day, 9.40 a.m.) RUGBY, November 30. United States aircraft, are already using the Japanese airstrip on Tarawa, in the Gilbert Islands, according to a statement by Colonel Knox (Secretarj’ for the Navy) reported from Washington. Colonel Knox added that ships are still operating in that area, but losses so far have been light.
