CHILDREN’S COMPETITIONS RESULTS AT GLADSTONE. KEEN. CONTESTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Gladstone School held its annual competition for lamb rearing on Friday afternoon. There was a fair attendance .of parents and competition was keen. The judge, Mr A. G. Wyeth, of Gladstone, commented favourably upon the excellent quality of the entries. The awards were as follow:— Short-woolled: Michael Foreman, 1; Shirley Crewe, 2; Miiriwai Hemi, 3. Long-woolled: Trevor Nunn, 1; Raema Harland, 2; Isabel McKay, 3.

JUDGE’S AWARDS. At the Ruakokopatuna School’s second lamb judging competition, the following awards were made by the judge, Mr Scott:—Nancy Denholm, 1; M. Finlayson, 2; J. Denholm, 3; Annette Sharp and H. Finlayson, equal, 4. Miss Pope thanked Mr and Mrs Scott and Mr Mason for having attended the competition.
