CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES. OLD BOYS BEAT COLLEGE. The Wairarapa Cricket Association's championship matches were continued on Saturday in fine weather. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP OLD BOYS v. WAIRARAPA COLLEGE. The Old Bbys scored a 5-point win over Wairarapa College, on the College grounds. For College, Sweeney played a good innings for 67 (not out), his score including eight 4’s and seven 2’s. Bannister (15) was-going well when he was run out. The best innings for Old Boys was contributed by Jones, who retired at 48. He hit five 4’s. W. Whiteman shaped well for 27 (four 4’s). Scores: —

JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP

Red Star v. Air Training Corps: On the College ground, Red Star juniors had an eight-point win over Air Training Corps. Scores: — Red Star, first innings, 99 (McNab 32, Forrester 17, Shoosmith 11, Walsh 10, Mooney 10; Moore 5 for 15, Pearson 3 for 33, Reynal 1 for 12). Second innings, 40 for 3 wickets (Mooney, not out, 18, Youngquest, not out, 17; Pearson 2 for 17. Air Training Corps: First innings, 57 (Freeman 22, Pearson 13: Mooney 4 wickets, Morgan 3 wickets, Youngquest 3 wickets). Second innings, 48 (Moore 21, Sigglekow 10; Longworth 5 for 21, Mooney 3 for 15, Forrester 2 for 0). Wairarapa College v. Y.M.C.A.—Wairarapa College had an eight-point win over Y.M.C.A. at the College grounds. Scores: —College, 104 (Jones 41). Y.M.C.A., first innings 34, second innings 44.

GAME IN WELLINGTON

SENIOR GRADE RESULTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The following were the results of the Wellington Cricket Association’s senior grade matches, on Saturday: Kilbirnie, 189 for nine wickets, declared (Parry 77) beat Institute Old Boys, 106 and 47 for four wickets, by 93 runs on the first innings. Air Force, 200 for seven wickets, declared (Bonner 71) drew with University, 193 for six wickets (Paetz 51). Petone, 187 drew with Wellington College Old Boys, 139 for nine wickets. MidlandWellington, 132 for eight wickets beat Army, 129, by two wickets on the first innings. Hutt, 112 beat St. Patrick’s College Old Boys, 82.
