The German defence line in White Russia, portion of which has already been smashed, is now facing’ a growing. attack in flank by Soviet forces. One particularly dangerous thrust by Soviet troops looks like taking the enemy in. rear, 15 miles south-west of Jlobin, an important junction on the main northsouth railway. Jlobin is about 60 miles north-west of Gomel. On the central and southern sectors of the Kiev bulge bitter fighting continues. The Germans lay claim in a roundabout way to have recaptured Korosten. A German communique says large Russian forces which broke into the suburbs have now been smashed.
