STOCK MARKET
CARTERTON SALE. A GOOD YARDING RECORDED. Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton sale yesterday:—A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward. The following are some of the realisations:— Sheep: Fat wethers, 26s 7d, 33s 6d; fat hoggets, 245, 255, 26s to 29s 6d; fat b.f. hoggets, 31s; ewes with lambs at foot, 10s 7d to 15s (all counted); shorn b.f. 2-ths., to 20s 6d; fat and forward ewes, to Us 8d; shorn ewe hoggets, to 20s.
Cattle: Three-year Jersey heifers on drop, £9 5s to £lO 15s; springing cows, to £7 15s; yearling Jersey heifers, £3 10s, £4 Ils to £4 15s; extra good yearling Ayrshire-Jersey cross heifers, to £6; fat cows, £6, £5 18s, £6 15s to £7 10s; forward cows, £4 to £4 16s; store cows, £3 7s to £3 10s; cull cows, 335, 35s to £2; cows and calves, to £3 17s 6d; bulls, £4 ss, £5, £6 to £7 15s. Pigs: Baconers, £3, £3 7s, £3 10s to' £4; forward stores, £2 5s to £2 Ils; store pigs, 35s to £2 3s; slips, 28s to 345; weaners, good, 23s to 28s; weaners, medium, 19s to 225; weaners, small, 15s to 18s.
