LACK OF COURTESY
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Would you please allow me space in your newspaper to reply on behalf of fellow' workers to J.L.K’s. complaint of lack of courtesy shown by us in travelling by bus. In the first place, the Ave o’clock bus is a workers’ bus, run for the benefit of Carterton people working in Masterton. Buses run from Masterton at 2.30 p.m., 3.30 p.m. and 4 pm. daily. Cannot others travel by these buses and leave the five o’cldck for the workers? By the number of women travelling on this bus lately, we wonder how often “the old man” has to get his own tea. Many of those travelling home have done a hard day’s toil and have been on their feet all day. Surely it is only right for them to have comfort on the journey home. Is it lack of courtesy shown by the' workers? We suggest it is lack of consideration shown by the general public. Thanking you for the space.—l am, etc., A WORKER. Carterton, November 25.
