SALE OF WORK
4 ST. MATTHEW’S LADIES’ GUILD. MOST SUCCESSFUL RESULT. The annual parish sale of work, organised by St. Matthew’s Ladies’ Guild, was held in the Y.M.C.A. Hall yesterday. Mesdames E. J. Rich, president, and J. Aikman (hon. secretary), attended to all the details which made the gathering most successful. AlLtlJo stalls were well patronised and morning and afternoon tea were served. The following were the stall-holders: Sunday School and savoury stall, Misses Brown and Mrs L. Emery; work stall, Mesdames Hatch, Thompson, Carpenter, Miss Creswell; produce stall, Mesdames Birch, Deans and Little, and Miss Levien; cake stall, Mesdames H. G. Alexander, L. Blatchford and G. Hill; fireside circle, Misses McEwen, Hale, Davenport, A. Perry and Swinn; I flower stall, Mrs Skeet, Misses M. Perry, P. Free and B. Ronaldson; jumble stall, Mesdames Sutherland and Kingdon; afternoon tea, Mesdames; Gray, Thomas. Jaine, Clarke, Wood and Richards, and Capt. Sutcliffe, C.A. The proceeds of the sale of work amounted to £l9l. The Venerable Archdeacon E. J. Rich expressed appreciation of the great work of all the stall-holders and of the splendid support which had come from all parts of the parish.
