DEALING WITH PRUSSIA
AN AMERICAN’S IDEAS. To set up a pdst-war German empire, or federal union, with Prussia in its hitherto leading position, would not give actual freedom to the nOn-Nazis of Germany, an American correspondent observed recently. However did Prussia come to be in its present position of leadership but by the action of the class of people who are now called Nazis, though they were not so called in earlier generations? The Duke of Prussia, the Electors of Brandenburg, and their mates, made a practice of reaching out when they saw a good opportunity, and annexing other States. Germany ought hot to be partitioned, but Prussia ought to be. Prussia ought to be divided into, say, ten states. Then bar from the suffrage person who has at any time held official position lindei* the Nazi government.
