MINISTER GRATEFUL

COMMITTEES ASKED TO CARRY ON. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. At the opening of the annual Dominion Patriotic Conference today, the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Parry) expressed the thanks of the Government for the untiring efforts of the patriotic bodies on behalf of the New Zealand forces, and good wishes for the future. A magnificent and noteworthy work had been performed by the patriotic bodies, Mr Parry said. While the result of the war was not in doubt, the length of hostilities was still in question and in his opinion peace was still a fair distance off. Therefore he wanted the patriotic bodies to carry on as they had been doing; notwithstanding the difficulties and problems confronting them.
