UNITED NATIONS
CANADA BECOMES MEMBER OF FOOD BOARD. OTTAWA, October 29. Canada has accepted an invitation from Mr Roosevelt and Mr Churchill to become a member of the Combined Food Board of the United Nations' and to help to plan the best use of their food resources. The Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. J. G. Gardiner, will be the Canadian representative. In extending the invitation the AngloAmerican leaders stated that the importance of Canadian food supplies and the interdependence of North American food production made it “appropriate and desirable” that Canada be directly represented as a member of the Board. The invitation added that the Canadian contribution in the production field was a source of admiration. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon, W. L, Mackenzie King has replied accepting the invitation.
