SERVICE APPEALS
SITTING OF BOARD MASTERTON CASES DEALT WITH. OVERSEAS AND TERRITORIAL TRAINING. The Wairarapa Armed Forces Appeal Board held a sitting in Masterton yesterday afternoon. There were present: Messrs R. R. Burridge (chairman), L. T. Daniell and J. W. Lewis. A number of cases relating to Territorial training were dealt with. In the following cases the person lodging the appeal is given in parentheses: —
Territorial training adjourned sin«r die:—Eric Gwillym Jones, mechanic (II J. Jones and Co.); Clarence Noel Irvine, solicitor (Director of National Service); Alexander M.’ Bell, grocery manager (Yates’ Cash Stores Ltd.);- Ro- £ bert Jack Catherall, meat inspector (Director of National Service). Territorial training in January:— Ernest, James Jenkins, carpenter (Jen~kins Bros.); Edward Roy Larsen, carpenter (Jenkins Bros.); Henry Orvan Peters, manager (Wairarapa Farmers’ Co-operative Association Ltd.); Frederick A, Irvine, sawmill hand (Director of National Service).
Territorial training in December:—■ John Noel Leadley, meat inspector (Director of National Service); Francis Aston Biggs, foreman (Jenkins Bros.). Overseas ' service and Territorial training adjourned sine die: —Norman Gee Dong, truck driver (Cho Nam Wong); Onslow William C. Thompson, spray enameller (N. R. Cunningham Ltd.); George Richard Ward, dental mechanic (.Tames W. Dove); Ronald Alex Pratt (reservist).
Adjourned.—Bernard Grimwood, pile driver (Director of National Service), to first meeting in March, 1944; David Bruce Vaughan, yard man (C. E. Daniell Ltd.), to December 31, 1943; Trevor William Loader, mechanic (V. Jones), to first sitting in January, 1944. Territorial training in February: Francis W. Reeves, baker (Reeves and Sons). Overseas service, adjourned sine die, Territorial training in January: Petei On Hing fruiterer’s assistant (Harry On Hing); Alan Wilfred Rigg, builder (W. Rigg).
