“SONG OF THE ISLANDS.” Shown for the first time in New Zealand, there will be presented at the Slate Theatre this evening one of the most brilliant musical comedies m/er brought to the screen and which has had record runs in America and Australia. The chief roles are taken by Betty Grable, Victor Mature and Jack Oakie. It is a picture full of colourful tunes, and the music should make an immediate appeal. The picture is shown in technicolour with Thomas Mitchell and Harry Owens and his Royal Hawaiians in six song hits. There are dazzling dancers, brilliant costumes and tropical glamour, making gay and outstanding entertainment.
