WORKMAN ELECTROCUTED
TRAGEDY AT WAIPUKURAU. VICTIM A RESIDENT OF EKETAHUNA. (By. Telegraph—Press Association.)' WAIPUKURAU, November 18. While engaged in work in connection with a soil erosion survey on the Lower Gorge road, Waipukurau, two Public Works employees received electric shocks, one, dying shortly after receiving the shock. He was: — Angus Mackay, married, aged 36, Eketahuna. Rayner James Jose, Wellington, received severe burns and is in Waipukurau Hospital. His condition is serious. The two men were using a steel tape. Mr Mackay was on the road, which is 50 feet above 11,000-volt power board lines. Mr Jose was in a paddock on the flat beyond the lines. The steel tape touched the bottom of the high tension lines, thus causing the accident.
