Nine French civilians were _ killed and more than 50 wounded during an hour’s battle last night with German troops in the main square at Lyons, south-eastern France, reports the Berne correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain. One German was killed and 12 wounded. The battle started when Germans emerged from their special theatre and two delayed action bombs exploded. The French simultaneously opened fire from windows of buildings nearby. The Germans subsequently used mach-ine-guns.
