SERVICE APPEALS
WAIRARAPA BOARD SITTING HELD IN MASTERTON SEVERAL SINE DIE ADJOURNMENTS The Wairarapa Armed Forces Appeal Board held a sitting in Masterton yesterday afternoon when there were present Messrs R. R. Burridge (chairman), L. T. Daniell, F. Cole and G. F. Whitlock (secretary and Crown representative) . In the following cases the name of the person lodging the appeal is given in parentheses:— Adjourned sine die: William Charles Watt, moulder (J. C. Ewington), Territorial training in March; John William Thornton, lime pit operator (Director of National Service); William Ormiston Thomson (Levin & Co., Ltd); Robert Vear Stevens, shepherd (manager, Tinui Station); George Frederick Candy, farmer (Wairarapa Production Council); Keith William Ross, farm hand (F. J. Clark); James Bell, plasterer (George Masters); Charles Edward Burcher, carpenter (J. A. Russell); Noel Bently Cathie, branch manager (Cathie & Sons, Ltd), Territorial training in March; Victor Edward Gooding, joiner (Chas. Bell), Territorial training in February; Wilfred Arthur Dell, plumber’s apprentice (R. V. Mason), Territorial training in January; Percy Martel, plumber (R. E. Baker), Territorial training postponed till December 31, 1943; William Charles A. Brown, abattoir slaughterman (Masterton Borough Council); Edgar George E. Grantham, gas fitter (Masterton Borough Council); George Francis Birkett, gas works engineer (Masterton Borough Council); George T. Sullivan (reservist) ; Edwin W. Fenemor, farm hand (W. Hibbard).
Dismissed: Reginald H. Emerson (M. Emerson); Loyd G. McKenzie, farmer (reservist); Elwin Richards, carpenter (Brown & Watson, builders).
