BOWLING
MASTERTON CLUB NOTES BY “THE BOWLER.” In spite of the bad weather considerable interest is being taken in the mid-week competitions, especially the veterans’ matches. The club is to be congratulated on getting three wins out of four in the Booth Cup against the strong Carterton Club. Bowlers are always superstitious about the figure 13. Last week at the Masterton Club one well-known fekip stayed on the 13 mark for 10 heads, which must be nearly a Dominion record.
Considerable interest is being taken in the threes tournament next Saturday for the trophies presented by the patron, Mr E. W. Nielsen. All entries should be in by Friday. Owing to the bad weather the centre is having trouble with its bowl testing, as the bowl tester cannot come to Masterton. It is, therefore, necessary to send the bowls to Wellington in separate lots. All bowlers who want their bowls stamped should make their arrangements on Saturday.
