The indebtedness of the Wairarapa Hospital Board was £47,000, the Man-aging-Secretary, Mr Norman Lee, stated at today’s meeting of the board. Members commented on the low figure compared with other districts. A Freak Rabbit. A rabbit caught the other day at Springhills (near Winton, Southland) had no teeth and apparently never had had any. In place of them, however, it had three tusks growing out of the front of its mouth. Each tusk was about an inch and- a half long and curled about the rabbit’s nose. It was a fairly old animal and its condition indicated that its lack of teeth had not affected its digestion. More Women Police,
' Advice that the Commissioner of Police has arranged for the transfer of three additional women police to Auckland has been received there from the Minister of Justice in reply to a telegram sent from the public meeting arranged in the city recently by the National Council of Women. The Minister added that more women were being called up for training and the majority of them would be posted to Auckland when their training was complete.
