TRANSFERS FROM ITALY TO GERMANY
ABOUT 160 MEN WITH ALLIES OR IN SWITZERLAND
RED CROSS SHIPMENTS

An analysis which has been received of transfers to date of prisoners from Italian camps to Germany, shows that approximately 24 have been transferred from PGS7, 14 from PGIO3/7, 165 from PGI4B, 89 from PG47 and approximately 45 from a number of camps in Northern Italy. In addition, some 160 from Italian camps have been reported safe in Allied hands or in Switzerland. The Prisoners of War Inquiry Office has received advice to the effect that Oflag VA is situated at Weinsberg, near Hailbrown. Oflag XIIIB is at Hadamar, in Hessen-Nassau, about 20 miles east of Coblenz.
Cabled advice regarding the exchange ships Gripsholm and Teia Marti states that all cargo from the American and Canadian Red Cross societies, totalling nearly 900 cases and bundles, was put on board for distribution in Indo-Chiha, Malaya, Siam, Sumatra; Burma, Borneo and Singapore. In addition 200,000 units of insulin were shipped in Bombay and rushed to Goafor loading on an urgent request from the International Red Cross delegate at Singapore, for the Changi Civil Camp. There are approximately 3000 tons measurement of Red Cross supplies, Y.M.C.A. recreational material, Catholic welfare material, mail and other parcels for Singapore, Malaya, Manila, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
