AT CARTERTON SALE YESTERDAY.
A TOTAL CLEARANCE OF STOCK
Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton sale yesterday: —A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward. Prices were on a par with late rates and a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations: —
Sheep: Fat shorn wethers, 27s 6d to 28s; fat shorn m. ewes, to 20s; fat shorn ewes, to 16s 6d; fat shorn b.f. hoggets, to 255; fat woolly wethers, to 37s 6d; fat woolly ewes, to 24s 3d; woolly ewes with lambs at foot, 16s 6d (all count-' ed); shorn 2-th wethers, 17s 3d, 21s Id to 22s lOd.
Cattle: Springing heifers, to £6; cows and calves, £4 10s to £4 17s 6d; fat heavy cows, £8 4s to £9 15s; fat cows, £5 10s to £7; forward cows, £4 to £5 3s; store cows, £3, £3 10s to £3 15s; Jersey bulls, £9 to £lO 15s; yearling Ayrshire heifers, to. £4 12s; yearling Jersey heifers, to £4 7s; 2-year Jersey heifers, to £6 2s. Pigs: Baconers, £3 17s, £4, £4 10s; choppers, £3 5s to £3 13s; forward stores, £2 7s to £2 12s; store pigs, 36s to 39s 6d; slips, 30s to 355; weaners, good, 26s to 30s; weaners, medium, 22s to 255; weaners, small, 18s to 21s.
