MARTINBOROUGH

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED (“Times-Age” Special.) At the 15th birthday of the Maranborough Women’s Institute there was a good attendance of members and visitors from other institutes in the district. The president (Mrs Boyd) presided. Sprays of lily of the valley, made by Mrs Boyd, were presented to the visiting institute presidents and also to Mrs Lamb. Several competitions were held, these being in charge of Mrs Yates. . The winners were Mesdames Hamilton, Caseley, Robson and Miss Craig. The birthday cake was made by Mrs Beveridge and iced by Mrs Caseley. Mrs Lamb, Senr., was called upon to cut it. The Antirrhinum Cup was won by Mrs Rowlands. In the best bloom competition Mrs Rowlands was first and Mrs Hamilton second.
