Amorlad has had a recurrence of the soreness which has restricted his racing since coming to Riccarton and was withdrawn from the New Zealand Cup at 2.30 p.m. today. The New Zealand Oaks candidate Desert Strife has had to be put asitje for a short spell. The Chokebore stable will thus be without the services of two strong representatives in Foxleap and Desert Strife at the cup meeting. Prudentia fared very badly on the trip to Trentham and returned light in condition. She has been taken out of work by her owner and is at present spelling. She is not likely to be raced again for some weeks. TURF TOPICS Mr R. J. Murphy’s (Wellington) Beau Cheval and Gamble have been taken south and will now be trained at Riccarton. The Champ is working well, if a little on the big side. Indian Sign and Silvio will be racing at the New Zealand Cup meeting. Wee Bun will have an outing at Levin.
