JAPANESE ADVANCE
ON CENTRAL YANGTSE FRONT.
MADE AT HEAVY COST IN LIVES.

Chinese reports indicate a costly Japanese advance on the central Yangtse front, in which 3000 Japanese troops have been killed in a single sector. The Japanese have occupied many villages and towns, advancing to the hills south-west of Chihkiang. Fighting has broken out anew near Nanchang, where several hundred Japanese have been killed.
