LATE RATES MAINTAINED.

AT CARTERTON SALE YESTERDAY.

Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton sale yesterday:—A good yarding of sheep and pigs, and an exceptionally large yarding of cattle came forward. Prices were on a par with late rates and practically a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations:— Sheep: Fat b.fs., to 275; fat hoggets, 23s 6d, 24s 3d, 24s 6d, 25s 6d, 26s to 30s; fat shown ewes, 14s to 15s; shorn b.fs., to 19s 7d; ewes with b.f. lambs at foot, 13s, all counted; woolly wether hoggets, 22s 7d, 23s 5d to 26s 3d; woolly ewe hoggets, 28s 5d to 295; shorn 2-th. ewes, to 22s Id; small w.w. hoggets, 18s to 18s 3d; b.f. hoggets, to 20s 2d.

Cattle: Jersey cows on drop, £7, £7 ss, £8 5s to £10; Jersey heifers, on drop, to £10; springing heifers, £5 15s to £6 10s; fat P.A. cows, to £ll 4s; yearling P.A. steers, to £6 4s; yearling P.A. heifers, to £4 ss; yearling Jersey heifers, £3, £4, £4 15s, £5 4s to £5 14s; fat bullocks, to £l5; fat P.A. steers, to £l2 7s 6d; fat heavy cows (Jersey), £8 to £8 17s 6d; light fat heifer cows, £8 17s to £9 3s; fat Jersey cows, £5 10s, £5 15s, £6, £6 5s to £6 19s; fat heifers, to £6 ss; forward cows, £4 to £4 16s; store cows, £2, £2 15s to £3 12s; cows and calves, £4 17s 6d to £6 2s 6d; Jersey bulls, £5 to £l2.
