REGENT THEATRE
DOUBLE PROGRAMME. “Sherlock Holmes in Washington” and “Henry Aldrich, Editor,” will be finally shown tonight. “THE FOREMAN WENT TO FRANCE.” “The Foreman Went to France,” which will be shown tomorrow night, is a feature which should not be missed. It is dedicated to Melbourne Johns, a British foreman, who went to France and did a magnificent job. Brilliantly directed and magnificently played, “The Foreman Went to France” is touched with the beauty of courage, the grandeur of self-sacrifice and the splendour of unswerving devotion. Clifford Evans turns in the best performance of a brilliant career as the foreman. Constance Cummings is superb as the American secretary who would not quit her job and Tommy Trinder is seen at his hilarious best as the real never say die Cockney soldier. It is a brilliant picture which should make a strong appeal to patrons of the Regent Theatre.
