EKETAHUNA

SCHOOL COMMITTEE MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Eketahuna School Committee there were present: Messrs L. Brown (chairman), S. Daniel, R. Murray, R. Gallagher, and the headmaster (Mr Lockhart). Ir was decided to hold a fancy dress dance on December 13, and that the supper arrangements be left in the hands of the wives of members of the committee. The visiting committee reported in rc gard to several matters which required attention, and arrangements were made for these to be attended to. The headmaster was authorised to obtain sports material required. The .matter of cutting noxious weeds was left in the hands of the secretary to arrange. Messrs Daniel and Murray were appointed visiting members for the month. The headmaster reported a primary roll of 170, the number of children in

the .secondary department being 27. Seasonal jobs on farms and vacancies in the staffs of Eketahuna firms had meant withdrawals from these classes, he stated. Persona! Items. Miss Pickett, Inspector for the Health Department, is paying a visit to Eketahuna and the district. Miss M. Petersen, Wairoa, who has been staying with relatives in Parkville, left yesterday for Auckland. Mr and Mrs C. T. Richardson and Miss Beiliss, Masterton, were visiting Eketahuna yesterday.
