STATE THEATRE
“ANGELS OVER BROADWAY” The programme at the State Theatre tonight will be headed by the brilliant drama “Angels Over Broadway,” telling a story that should make an immediate appeal to picture patrons. It is the strange and wonderful story of a romance born between dusk and dawn. Rita Hayworth appears as Nina Barona who found a career but lost her heart. Douglas Fairbanks, Jnr. will be seen as Bill O’Brien who found thrills in trimming “suckers.” Thomas Mitchell has the part of Gene Gibbons who found dreams of fame —in a bottle. It is a beautiful story stirringly told and excellently acted. Also in the cast is Constance Worth, an Australian actress, better known in her own country as Joy Howarth. After a long run of bad luck at Hollywood she makes good in a part, that of Sylvia Marbe, in “Angels Over Broadway.”
