ABANDONED BY LEADING POWERS
COMMENTS ON THE MOSCOW DECISIONS.

Paying a special tribute to M. Molotov, the Soviet Deputy Premier and Foreign Secretary. Mr Eden said: “He was a most admirable chairman—• painstaking and quick. He triumphed most successfully over the language difficulty.” The American Secretary ol Slate, Mr Cordell Hull, said that the conference showed the leading countries had abandoned “the hermit route to isolationism.” He added that it was high time that such countrips as Britain, Russia and the United States got together before it was too late. The movement for closer international cooperation in the prosecution of the war and the building of peace was nov/ wholeheartedly endorsed, with China joining in as one of the original signatories to an historic declaration. Continuing, Mr Hull said that once (lie principle of co-operation instead of isolationism had been endorsed it would not be difficult to go ahead with specific military, political, economic, and social problems. Tn the military field decisions had already been adopted which might from time to time be improved. In the political field decisions had been .adopted which might become exceedingly important in many rays, both behind the lines as more
territories were reclaimed from the enemy, and in the post-war period. Instancing co-operation in the economic field, Mr Hull said Russia would Jn future be represented in informal "discussions which had already been initialed in Washington between Britain and America concerning, for example, post-war stabilisation of exchange.
