In the presence of many Australians and Poles a memorial stone on the grave of the famous Polish 1 explorer, Count Paul Strzelecki, was jointly unveiled in London by Mr S. Bruce, Australian High Commissioner, and Mr S. Mikolajczyk, Prime Minister of Poland. Tributes to ' the intrepid Polish explorer, who' discovered and named the highest peak in the Australian Alps in honour of Poland’s great hero and champion of freedom, Kosciuszko, were paid, by Mr Mikolajczyk, Mr Bruce and the President of the Strzelecki Committee, Mr ' Shean Leslie, the wellknown English poet.
