TARGETS IN BURMA
ATTACKED BY R.A.F. PLANES ‘ GOOD RESULTS SEEN. ALL AIRCRAFT RETURN SAFELY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.5 a.m.) RUGBY, November 1. An Indian communique states: “A target for R.A.F. Wellington bombers on Sunday night was the railway junction of Myingyan. Hits were scored on the station and yards, and large fires were started. R.A.F. dive-bombers yesterday and Saturday attacked enemy occupied villages in Arakan. Yesterday fighters and dive-bombers bombed and machine-gunned enemy villages and enemy positions in the Chin Hills area. The targets were well covered with bombs, which were seen to burst among buildings. Fighters maintained' their attacks on enemy road, rail and river communications, damaged a large river steamer and a locomotive, and also set fire to rolling stock. None of our aircraft is missing.”
