WELLINGTON GAMES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Wellington Cricket Association’s championship competitions opened in cheerless weather and on dead, wickets on Saturday afternoon. From 4.30 p.m. onwards drizzling rain set in. The senior grade matches resulted as follows:—Karori 153 drew with Kilbirnie 153 (Fitzsimmons 67); Air Force 252 for nine wickets, declared (W. H. Dustin 73, M. Dentice 89 not out) drew with Army 184 for nine wickets (Upston 52 not out); Midland-Wellington 44f for eight wickets beat St. Patrick’s College Old Boys 145 (J. A. Ongley 72); Petone 99 beat Institute Old Boys 61; Hutt 111 beat Wellington College Old Boys 89.
