12 POLICEMEN INJURED IN SYDNEY FIFTEEN RIOTERS ARRESTED. INCLUDING SOLDIERS & AIR FORCE MEN. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, October 30. In Sydney’s most violent brawl for years, 12 policemen were injured and 15 men were arrested at Manly last night. Police, reinforced by members of the Provost Corps, were compelled to use their batons, and it was an hour before the disturbance was suppressed. While thousands looked on, an angry shouting mob followed the police to the doors of the Manly police station. The disturbance began when the police vzere called to remove three soldiers from the bridge of the Manly ferryboat. Soldiers are alleged to have taken charge of the wheelhouse and navigating bridge, defying the captain and crew. Those arrested included four soldiers, four air force men and two sailors. One policeman had a finger almost bitten off and another was knocked unconscious.
