RIGHT OF PASSAGE
REFUSED BY GERMANS TO SWEDISH SHIPS (By Telegraph Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.30 a m ) STOCKHOLM, October 29. The German decision not to grant a safe conduct xor Swedish ships has shocked the general public. The Dagens Nyheter” comments: This state of blockade is humiliating for a neutral State, but should not last long now. If the Germans do not like to grant the right of safe passage, perhaps war developments will give it to us. Sweden hopes that the way to the west will soon reopen both for ourselves and our neighbours. The material effects of the suspension do not amount to a disaster, but will mainly be felt in luxury and, semi-luxury trade.”
