It was planned and produced within six months, to take ihe place of the standard 25-pounder in areas formerly inaccessible to field artillery. The gun, weighing only 2901b5, breaks up into twelve major parts for dropping by parachute or for sack carrying. It can be taken apart in 90 seconds and reassembled in 150 seconds. The gun uses standard 25-pounder ammunition. Its production has aroused world-wide interest among artillery experts. Britain for some time has. been experimenting with a similar weapon.
