SUCCESSFUL GATHERING CONCLUDED BIG INCREASE IN GATE TAKINGS. COMPARED WITH 1941 FIXTURE. There was a large attendance at the Carterton Showgrounds yesterday afternoon when the Wairarapa and East Coast P. and A. Society’s spring show was brought to a successful conclusion. Although there were some fairly heavy rain showers a large crowd witnessed the ring competitions. The gate takings yesterday- amounted to £398 19s, as compared with £342 8s 6d in 1941. Several members of the South Wairarapa Traffic Unit under Mr A. E. Ansell, of the Traffic Department, had two very busy days controlling the heavy motor traffic to and from the Wairarapa Show. Results are: — CHAMPIONSHIPS The following are the championship awards!—
