MASTERTON CLUB RACE FROM MERCER The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held a race from Mercer, an airline distance of 253 miles, the results being as follows: Grant & Forrester’s “Mosquito,” time 7hrs 26mins, 1; N. Gardner’s “Lacy,” 7hrs 28mins, 33secs, 2, R Haley's “Rangiora,” 7—38, 3; A. Pinkney’s “The Battler,” 8—25, 4; L. Wickens’s “War Lord,” 8—40—48, 5; W. Miller’s “Fighter Command,” 9 —4—48, 6. Next week three races will be flown —from Taumarunui, an airline distance of 145 miles; Te Kuiti, an airline distance of 185 miles, and Mercer, an airline distance of 253 miles. The birds will complete for Mr AV. Harding’s trophy.
