A steamer owned by the Eire Shipping Company, which left Dublin on Wednesday last for Spain was attacked from a low level by an unidentified plane 120 miles off the Irish coast, with cannon and machine-gun fire. Four men were wounded, including the. captain, who is in a serious condition. The vessel put back to Cork after the attack and the wounded persons were admitted to hospital.
